Environmental Education and Advocacy
Connecting people and communities to the natural world.

Fieldwork and communications
Worked at the forefront of conservation projects in the Caribbean, Atlantic Ocean, Patagonia, California and Spain. On expedition, I was responsible for environmental education programmes and communications with the public.
My role in the field varied from research assistant to expedition leader, both above and below water.
Plastic pollution advocacy
Since 2014, I have taken a deep dive in one of the biggest environmental challenges of our times, investigating the topic of plastic pollution and advocating for drastic changes in how we approach the issue. From microplastics to ghost gear, I worked with leading experts in the field, both in scientific research and policy change.
For seven years, I led an environmental engagement project that focused on ideating upstream solutions to plastic pollution within the Balearic Islands.

Excursions and outdoor learning
Conceptualise, coordinate and lead outdoor excursions for students and adults. The activities are centred around nature, science and exploration and foster a positive and adventurous connection with the natural world.

Citizen-science
Present techniques and train non-experts to conduct citizen-science activities, from underwater transects to microplastic sample collection. The data collected is shared with active research projects, including Exeter University, 5 Gyres Institute and Observadores del Mar.

Wildlife observation
In the Mediterranean, I spent weeks at sea helping to monitor the presence and behaviour of pelagic megafauna such as sperm whales and Risso's dolphins, participating in a Europe wide identification study.

Satellite tagging
From the field straight to social media, I assisted and helped to communicate about satellite tagging projects in the Mediterranean, involving loggerhead sea turtles and Spinetail devil rays.
